Altnabreac

At the end of October 2008 we took on a job at Altnabreac, in the highlands of Scotland on what turned out to be some very indifferent weather conditions.

For Network Rail:
Over one weekend in July 2010 we successfully completed the installation of 12 x 709ft rails, fully stressed, with new pads and nylons throughout the re-railing site and cut up the scrap rails into 28 feet lengths, approx 140 tonnes, and delivered the scrap rails to the access, approx 1 mile away.
This was all done within 2 x 12 hour shifts, and was finished ahead of schedule.
