Trac Rail Transposer
The Trac Rail Transposer was designed and manufactured wholly by McCulloch Rail on their premises in Ballantrae, Scotland.
The Trac Rail Transposer has a full patent: GB2427234

McCulloch Rail, working along with First Engineering, with their Trac Rail Transposer have successfully completed the longest single line relay in Britain to date, totalling almost four miles, at County March on the Inverness to Wick line.
Single line jobs are always the ones that give the planners the biggest headaches, but that is where the Trac Rail Transposer comes into its own.
This was a job that would have been virtually impossible to re-rail due to the terrain without the Trac Rail Transposer's being involved. On one night the winds were in excess of 100mph, but the work continued.
In a twelve day spell the blockade on the line was removed and the stretch was re-railed on time. We even had some spare time to remove one and a half miles of panelled track previously put aside before the line was due to re-open.
