As part of the EGIP Project, Scot Rails Eastfield Depot had four new sidings installed on the 30th and 31st of August with the help of McCulloch Rail’s FLASS machine and TRTs. The McCulloch Rail team on site laid a total of 2,400 ft. of sleepers with the FLASS and delivered and installed 2,400 ft. of 60 ft. rails using the four-rail carrier on the TRTs over the two days. The team on site done really well to achieve this works on the time scale given as unfortunately the customer was unable to apply the original plan for the FLASS machine or TRTs as there were still excavation works being carried out which limited the space we had to work and this also meant the guys on site were not able to complete one line before moving on to next. They had to coordinate movements and install sleepers from one line to the next while TRTs were delivering and installing the 60 ft. rails.
This job is just one of a number of individual Projects that McCulloch rail have been involved in on the overall EGIP Project with others including the Millerhill Depot re modelling for Amey Sersa on which our Projects division worked a combination of all McCulloch rail plant including FLASS, Panel Lifters and TRTs to achieve these works.
